Mario Kart 64 was a Mario Kart Grand Prix tournament.

History

Pipe Frame go-karts were still in use, but some significant developments were added; 150cc engine sizes were implemented, for instance. New items on the track were also implemented, such as the famous Spiny Shell. The items in general were also placed in Item Boxes now, forgoing the ? Panels previously housing these items.

The roster remained at a total number of eight, the majority being from the previous Mario Kart Grand Prix, but some were replaced by other racers. The roster goes as follows:

The Grand Prix consisted of 16 courses split between four cups. There were also four battle courses that hosted Balloon Battle.
