Mario Kart 64 was a Mario Kart Grand Prix tournament.
History
Pipe Frame go-karts were still in use, but some significant developments were added; 150cc engine sizes were implemented, for instance. New items on the track were also implemented, such as the famous Spiny Shell. The items in general were also placed in Item Boxes now, forgoing the ? Panels previously housing these items.
The roster remained at a total number of eight, the majority being from the previous Mario Kart Grand Prix, but some were replaced by other racers. The roster goes as follows:
The Grand Prix consisted of 16 courses split between four cups. There were also four battle courses that hosted Balloon Battle.

- The sequel to Super Mario Kart.
- The only karts in use are still Pipe Frames.
- Wario & Donkey Kong take part, likely placing this game after Mario and Wario made up and Mario vs. Donkey Kong.
- Likely after Super Mario 64 due to F.L.U.D.D.’s game order on the monitor in the intro of Super Mario Sunshine.
