Princess Peach Toadstool is the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, one of the 8 rulers of the Mushroom World and one of the seven star children. Peach is often kidnapped by Bowser during his many attacks on the Mushroom Kingdom and other areas or by other villains, but she occasionally plays a more active role in fighting them, such as in the Koopa invasion of the Sprixie Kingdom.
History
Early Life
Princess Peach was born some time after Mario & Luigi and lived in Mushroom Castle from a very young age, if not from birth.[1][2][3] As a baby, she was raised and protected by Toadsworth, her middle-aged steward and retainer.[4]
Yoshi’s Island DS
In Yoshi's Island DS, Peach was kidnapped from the Mushroom Castle along with every other baby in the world by Kamek and Bowser from the future. The stork managed to free her and Mario from the Toadies' grasp and she landed peacefully on Yoshi's Island with her parasol.
She rode on the Yoshis from time to time, aiding them with her parasol to reach heights if there was a gust of wind.[5] She was kidnapped by an Ukiki, but was rescued after a short while.[6][7]
After future Bowser's defeat, Peach was returned to her home safely.[8]
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time (Past)
Childhood
Princess Peach was taught how to be a princess by the ministers, with the Chancellor having a fair deal of control of the Kingdom while Peach was growing up and into her adult life.[9][10][11] The princess' chambermaid, Grandma, also likely had a hand in raising her. During these years, she was taught to be delicate and to help people in need.[9][12] She also spent time playing games in the Castle's Rec Room during this period.[13]
Adulthood
At some point, she met fellow royalty, Princess Daisy of Sarasaland and Prince Pine of Jewelry Land, both of which she became good friends with.
Super Mario Bros.
The Mushroom Kingdom was invaded by the Koopa Troop, led by Bowser. As part of the invasion, Bowser transformed the Toads into stones, bricks, and field horsehair plants. Peach was the only one able to undo the spell, so Bowser kidnapped her.[14]
Bowser was then defeated by Mario and Luigi. Now free, Peach could then undo the spell done to her people.[15]
Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels
The Koopa Troop invaded again with the same plan as before, and Peach was kidnapped but sent into a parallel world that was under a tighter control by the Koopa Troop.[16]
The Mario Bros. saved her and Peach could undo the spell again.
Super Mario Bros. (Game & Watch)
Bowser kidnaps Peach, but Peach was able to send a letter to Mario, asking for his help. Peach aided Mario via an illusion of herself to steer Mario in the right direction to her location.[17] Peach was saved after Mario reached her destination.
Donkey Kong (Game & Watch) (Modern)
After a bit of downtime without any Bowser invasions, Donkey Kong suddenly barreled in and kidnapped Peach, taking her to the top floor of an industrial factory. Mario was with Donkey Kong at the time and saved her while she was progressively led upwards by Donkey Kong.[18]
Super Mario Bros. 3
The Mushroom Kingdom was in peace, but Peach heard that the neighboring Mushroom World was under attack by Bowser and his new recruits: the Koopalings. Peach asked Mario & Luigi to help restore peace to the Mushroom World.[19]
After every area had been freed, Peach would gift the Mario Bros. with an item or advice on the road ahead. While Mario & Luigi were saving the last area, Bowser kidnapped Peach and brought her to Dark Land. The Mario Bros. saved her after being told of this.
Super Mario World
Peach, Mario, and Luigi were going on vacation to Dinosaur Land after the events of Super Mario Bros. 3. While Mario & Luigi were flying around using the Cape Feather, Peach was suddenly kidnapped and taken to the Valley of Bowser.[20]
The Mario Bros. arrived at their final destination and defeated Bowser, relinquishing Peach from his Clown Car and flying off. The three could then continue their vacation as normal.[21]
Rain Shower (Modern) (Easy Mode)
Peach joined Toad and Donkey Kong Jr. to relax around some clotheslines, unbeknownst to Bowser attempting to throw colored water balloons at her.[22]
Dr. Mario
Peach worked in the Mushroom Kingdom Hospital as a nurse, specifically in the virus research lab to analyze the viruses that came from space.[23] Due to an out-of-control experiment, the viruses were spreading quickly and she had to notify Mario of the incident.[24] No one was injured or caught a virus.
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
While sitting around some flowers in front of Mario's house, Bowser swept in and kidnapped her into his castle. Mario manages to defeat Bowser, but that's when the abrupt invasion of the Smithy Gang began with Exor slicing its way into Bowser's Castle.
The impact launched Peach all the way onto Booster Tower, where Booster locked her on top of his tower until he could make the preparations of marrying her. Bowser does eventually find her, including Mario and the gang. After climbing their way to the top, Booster was ready to marry her, so he brings her over to Marrymore with everyone else giving chase. The marriage was luckily ended and Peach could return safely to the Mushroom Castle.
Peach requests to help the group out in stopping the Smithy Gang, but the Chancellor forbid her from joining the group. She went to her room, but sneaked out by jumping off her bedroom window to join the group anyway. She was with the group all the way, even buying a frying pan as a weapon in Moleville, till the Smithy Gang's defeat, where she and Mario could return home safely with a victory parade celebrating their win.
Chef (Modern)
Peach was cooking up a large variety of food for Yoshi with her frying pan.[25] Sometimes she'd cook outside the castle.
Fire (Modern)
A fire may have broken out because of Peach's cooking.[26]
Mario Clash
Peach was part of the audience watching Mario collect coins during the Bonus Stage.
Yoshi's Safari
Mario had heard of Bowser invading Jewelry Land, taking its 12 gems, and asked Mario and Yoshi at the Mushroom World to help return peace to the kingdom.[27] Mario and Yoshi returned to Peach when they were done saving the land.
