Ancient History
First appearing in Isle Delfino, not much is known about the origins of Piantas, but it is said that they are “born of the mountains”.[6] Their ancestral home is Pianta Village, a village held by a giant tree on top of a giant pit to escape wild beasts.[1] Given the Piantas originated from deep in the mountains, it’s likely they migrated to the Bianco Hills area first, before moving on to the coast, where they would at one point encounter the Nokis. At some point in their history, the Piantas and the Nokis would unite to form their own country encompassing Isle Delfino and likely the other islands of the archipelago as well. At some point, there was a great king for which the islanders built the Grand Pianta Statue in Delfino Plaza.[7][8] At some point, Piantas migrated to many places around the world, including the Mushroom Kingdom and Rogueport.
