Mario Golf: Super Rush are a series of golfing tournaments and a rookie's story into being qualified for Battle Golf after saving its many courses from the wild weather.

History

Day 1

During a televised event of Battle Golf, a series of unfortunate incidents happening to Wario, Waluigi, and Bowser causes Mario to win the tournament. Meanwhile, the welcoming ceremony for the new golfing rookies, Toadette, Chargin' Chuck, Boo, and another rookie, will happen tomorrow. Birdo, the camp-house mama, has everyone introduce themselves before everyone goes to bed for the initiation.

Day 2

It's the initiation ceremony for the four new rookies. The head coach hands out each of the rookies a golfwatch, which can do a lot such as tracking your stats or record your scores. Everyone starts with a Steel Badge, but better badges will be earned with the more Badge Qualifiers that are won. Everyone takes a few golf lessons in the Bonny Greens Practice Area, the Rookie Course, before taking a Qualifying Round on the main course. All of the rookies are now eligible for the Bonny Green Open, which will happen tomorrow.

Day 3 & 4

The 2-day Bonny Greens Open occurs. The rookie passes through all the holes with flying colors which causes his Steel Badge to be improved to Chrome.

Day 5

Thanks to their Chrome Badge, the rookie is allowed access to the course at Ridgerock Lake. Unfortunately, the big storm the other day did a lot of damage to the course, so there won't be any tournaments for a little while. However, players can still play Cross-Country Golf, so the rookie plays a practice round of XC Gold before playing some standard rounds. After enough rounds, the rookie could now qualify for a Badge Qualifier XC Golf, but things need to be set up until tomorrow.

Day 6

The Badge Qualifier at Ridgerock Lake is underway; the rookie plays 9 holes of XC Golf and has their badge improved to a Bronze Badge. Despite having the qualifications, the road to Balmy Dunes hasn't been fixed yet, so the rookie seeks Stinger Shot and Special Shot lessons from Master Stinger. Thanks to his lessons, the rookie now has the ability to break boulders via Special Shots.

After playing a challenge, the road to Balmy Dunes is now open. The area's heat wave requires all members to enter with a bottle of water for safety reasons. The rookie's Bronze Badge doesn't qualify them for Standard Golf, but Speed Golf. After playing a practice round, the rookie registers for a standard round which will have to happen at dawn due to the intense heat that happens later in the day.

Day 7

A standard round of Speed Golf at Balmy Dunes later, the rookie can now register for the back nine. However, due to flooding, getting past the 14th hole is not possible. The rookie registers anyway and uses a Special Shot to break the boulder that's causing the flooding.

Thanks to the rookie, the 18 holes are now accessible for all players, and the rookie registers for the 18-hole Speed Golf Badge Qualifier. After playing a round, the rookie has their badge improved from Bronze to Silver, which allows them access to Wildweather Woods, Princess Peach's private golf estate. Although the heavy rain doesn't allow any tournaments to be hosted, the rookie could still play a practice round to be granted clubhouse privileges. The rookie then registers for a front nine round of Speed Golf, with staff present for thunderstorm concerns.

The rookie then learns about Lob Shots and gets a lob wedge from Master Lob. After talking to Master Lob, the rookie then has to seek out Master Duff, who will teach them the way of the Duff. After learning enough Duff from The Duff, the rookie talks to the Wildweather Woods coach who tells them about a pair of unusual gentlemen that have been making a lot of noise at the statue area. Investigating, the two seem to be Wario and Waluigi who have been searching for a Lightning Sword.

After the two left, a disembodied voice then presents a trilogy of trials to the rookie, the final trial being a duel against the voice possessing a suit of armor. After passing the trials and obtaining the Lightning Sword, Wario and Waluigi return to explain that the sword can conjure up thunderclouds and lightning, with Waluigi blurting out they need it to find a treasure.

After the duo leave, the voice returns to explain that the extreme weather is due to the evil Snow King reemerging after being previously melted away by Bowser. The hot weather that resulted in it caused pollen from the Tree of Sleep to spread, which Bowser inhaled and had him fall into a deep slumber. To help defeat the Snow King, the rookie must also seek the power of the Sacred Flamebeast in Balmy Dunes; their Fire Gem could help combat the Snow King's ice power.

Journeying to Balmy Dunes' Treasure Corner, the rookie finds the Fire Gem and battles the Sacred Flamebeast. The rookie then heads to Mount Snow, but only Gold Badge members can travel there. The weather, despite being cleared up, does not allow any tournaments to happen yet, but the rookie can still register for a Special Match among the Pros. After winning first place, the rookie's badge is upgraded to Gold which allows them to head into Mount Snow. Heading there, the town is entirely frozen with all of its inhabitants under a block of ice. Using the Fire Gem's Power of Flame, everyone is unfrozen, allowing the rookie to continue on further to the Snow King's domain.

Taking Wario and Waluigi along, the lava monsters and snowballs are impeding the trio's progress. Wario and Waluigi decide to hold the fort, defending the rookie to keep them safe in nabbing the treasure for them. the disembodied voice then grants the duo enough lightning power to keep them amped up in defeating the monsters. The rookie continues on alone but is ambushed by a group of monsters. Suddenly, Mario appears; Toad had called him earlier and he arrived just in time. With the two together, they reach the peak of Mount Snow, but Mario is then thrown inside a cage by the Snow King himself, meaning the rookie has to fight him alone.

After reducing the Snow King to just a head, Wario, Waluigi, and Bowser appear. Bowser uses his Power of Flame to melt the Snow King and return his course back to Bowser Highlands, and the rookie has been approved to play in Battle Golf. Everyone then celebrates.
