Koopa Troop
Koopa Troop.png

The Koopa Troop, also known as the Koopa Clan, Bowser's Army, the Bowser Baddies and Bowser's Minions, is the military of the Koopa Kingdom, which is led by King Bowser Koopa. It is also called a variety of other names, including “Bowser’s Minions,” and the “Koopa Clan.” While usually the Koopa Troop aids Bowser in his attempts at conquest, on numerous occasions a significant portion of the Koopa Troop has been mind-controlled and made to serve someone else, such as Count Bleck or Fawful, and act against the Koopa King.

History

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

To help avoid the terrible future predicted by Kamek,[1] he's sent his forces to actively search Yoshi's Island, the last known location of Baby Mario.[2] These forces consisted of:

Yoshi's New Island

Yoshi's Island DS

Yoshi's Story

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time(Past)

Super Mario Bros.

Prior to the Mario Bros's arrival in the Mushroom Kingdom, Bowser and the Koopa Troop invaded the Mushroom Kingdom. Durring the invasion, many of the Goombas which were once loyal to the kingdom betrayed the Mushroom Kingdom to join Bowser. Many of the Toads were turned into bricks, stones and plants by Bowser using his evil magic, Bowser also kidnapped Princess Peach and the 7 Mushroom Retainers.[3] The invasion also spread into the sewers of New Donk City where Mario and Luigi ran into Koopa Troopas, Fighter Flies, Sidesteppers and Freezies.

Description

In combat, all of the minions of a set group have one captain, sometimes marked by a flag on their head. When the leader is defeated, all of the minions in that group stop fighting and retreat, regardless if there are still any minions in their squad active.[4] This is an effective strategy the Koopa Troop enacts on their opposing forces, as they follow the same protocol.[5]
