Yoshi's Story is the return of the Super Happy Tree after it had been stolen by Baby Bowser.

History

Baby Bowser had cast a spell onto Yoshi's Island; the entire island had turned into a storybook. In the process, Bowser had also stolen the Super Happy Tree, dimming everyone's mood to a depressed state.[1] Six Yoshi Eggs survived the depressive attack and hatched to see the weird state the island is in. Then they came up with a plan to spread everyone's cheer while following the trail of fruit that came out of the kidnapped Super Happy Tree. By finding the tree, happiness will probably return.

The Yoshis brave through each page of the storybook, motivated by their optimism of getting closer and closer to the Super Happy Tree. To go any further, the Yoshis had to jump in the ocean and swim all the way to Bowser's Castle. They found the Super Happy Tree, along with Baby Bowser who starts to fight with them over it.[2] The Yoshis are victorious in this fight and Baby Bowser relinquishes the Super Happy Tree.

The Super Happy Tree returned back to Yoshi's Island, and the island likely returned back to normal.[3]

Timeline

  • Six Yoshi Eggs are seen hatching at the beginning of this game. These may be the same eggs seen in Vermin (Modern).
  • The green egg that hatches is likely the same Yoshi seen hatching in the ending of Yoshi's Island DS.
  • Baby Bowser knows Mario at this point & his speech is more advanced than in previous titles.[4]
