Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island was the first kidnapping of Baby Mario & Luigi and was when the brothers were born.

History

One fateful night, the Koopa Wizard, Kamek, was gazing in his crystal ball. He saw that two brothers would give the future King of the Koopas trouble. Kamek foresaw that Mario and Luigi were being delivered by the Stork the next morning and planned to take the babies to prevent the future from happening[1]. Upon the attempted kidnapping, Kamek only managed to capture Baby Luigi. Meanwhile, Baby Mario ended up falling down towards the sea with a map the Stork used. Luckily the baby landed on the back of Yoshi who was taking a walk. Upon Yoshi meeting the baby, he saw that the map the Stork dropped. He was confused by the map and went to meet with his friends. While this was happening, Kamek realized he missed one baby and sent his Toadies to capture the missing baby.[2]

Upon returning to his friends, the Yoshi clan were discussing on what to do with the baby. They notice that Baby Mario is pointing at something intensely. The brotherly bond between Mario and Luigi had Mario sense his brother. The Yoshis agreed to travel with the red hatted baby to the destination he was pointing towards in a relay system. The Green Yoshi picked up the baby they set off towards the destination.[3]

The Yoshi clan traveled across Yoshi's Island fighting many troops and monsters Kamek had sent. After many trials, the Yoshi clan managed to get Mario to the Koopa Kingdom where Kamek hid. Upon arrival Kamek begged Yoshi to hand over Baby Mario which ended up waking Baby Bowser. In a fight of rage Baby Bowser beat up Kamek for waking him. When seeing Yoshi he wanted to ride him, like how Baby Mario was. After a short battle with Baby Bowser, Yoshi defeated the prince of the Koopas. Kamek angered by this used his magic wand to make Baby Bowser grow in size. The baby prince attacked Yoshi and Baby Mario with falling rocks and slowly moved towards the duo to knock down the floor they were on. After a tough battle, Baby Bowser was soundly defeated, and Kamek and the young Koopa prince fled.

Yoshi was able to reunite Baby Mario and Baby Luigi and return them to the Stork to finish his delivery to the brother's parents.

The Stork was able to safely deliver Mario and Luigi to their home. Allowing them to be officially born.
