Jewelry Land is a kingdom on the east coast of the Mushroom Continent. It is a monarchy currently ruled by King Fret. The land is known for its 12 magical gems that stabilize the land.
The kingdom has a good relationship with the neighboring Mushroom Kingdom. Princess Peach is friends with the royal family, and sent Mario and Yoshi to Jewelry Land to save them it was invaded.
During the events of Yoshi’s Safari, the Koopa Kingdom, led by Bowser and the Koopalings, invades Jewelry Land. They steal the gems, causing the land to split into a Light Realm and a Dark Realm. They also kidnap King Fret and Prince Pine. Mario and Yoshi rescue them and regain the gems, Reconnecting the Light Realm and the Dark Realm into one landmass and bringing peace back to the kingdom.
