The Subcons are a peaceful fairy-like species that reside in the Dream World, more specifically in the kingdom of Subcon, where they are led by their king named Ōsama.
History
Super Mario Bros. 2
Just before the events of Super Mario Bros. 2, Subcon was attacked by the 8 bits, led by Wart, who brought the Subcon under his spell and put them in a jar. Desperate for help, the Subcon appear in Mario's, Luigi's, Peach's and Toad's dream, where they plead for the help of these heroes and tell them that Wart is weak to vegetables. So Mario and his embarks on a journey through Subcon to defeat Wart and the 8 bits.
