The Desert Hill King is a Human who is the king of Desert Hill and accordingly one of the 8 rulers of the Mushroom World. He lives in Desert Hill Palace. During the events of Super Mario Bros 3, his kingdom is invaded by the Koopa Clan. His Magic Wand is stolen by Morton Koopa Jr. and he is turned into a Hoopster. When Mario and Luigi make it to Desert Hill's Castle, a Toad informs them of the situation. Mario and Luigi board Morton Koopa Jr.'s Airship and defeat him, gaining back the wand of the Desert Land King. The wand is given back to the king, who is turned back into a human, before handing a letter from Peach to Mario and Luigi.
