Coin
Coins are a universal currency found throughout the universe and its many dimensions. Their appearance in other dimensions suggests their origin to date back thousands of years when inter-dimensional travel was prevalent among the Tribe of Ancients.[1]
Description
- “The Mushroom Kingdom is overflowing with coins. You'll find them hiding under question blocks, grass, enemies, and more.”
- —North American website, Super Mario 3D Land
Coins are floating, oval, golden shiny objects. They're used in a lot of locations often used as its main currency, though some locations use it as a secondary currency, as they have created their own regional coins as seen in kingdoms such as the Metro Kingdom and Cap Kingdom.
On both sides a "1" is displayed in the middle, displaying its worth as just one coin, despite how large it may seem.[2] The true worth of a gold coin is dependent on the number written on it, the highest being "100".[3]
Next to Star Bits, coins are another type of food that Lumas like to eat, with their transformation working effectively the same.[4]
