Super Mario Bros. (Game & Watch) was the rescue of Princess Toadstool, much more downscaled than previous kidnappings.
History
Princess Peach Toadstool of the Mushroom Kingdom has been kidnapped by Bowser, King of the Koopa. Toadstool sends Mario a letter to come help her, and so Mario heads off.
Mario braves through 8 Worlds, facing all the ferocious enemies that confront him, and always being guided by an illusion of Peach at the end of each world. Peach has also hidden Super Stars and 1-Up Mushrooms to aid Mario in his quest, though he must use his own strength to go on further.[1]
After finishing the 8 Worlds, Mario rescues Peach and Bowser is thrown out of a castle, likely his.[2]
Timeline
- Bowser attempts to take over the Mushroom Kingdom again, but with a much smaller army and no transformation magic being used on the Toads. Likely a last-ditch attempt to take over the Mushroom Kingdom with what little he has left.
