Moonview Highway's lake

Moonview Highway is a racetrack first used in Mario Kart Wii. It was the second course of the Special Cup, and is close to Cheese Land.

Appearance

“Don't be distracted by the beauty of the full moon reflecting in the lake. Those on-coming headlights mean the road is chock-full of traffic that isn't going to move aside for you!”
European website, Mario Kart Wii

Moonview Highway is split between a cliffside area and a city filled with spotlights and billboards. Its name comes from the large lake at the cliffside area beautifully reflecting the moon at night. Beyond the lake, the yellow, holed, far-away cliffs resemble those of Cheese Land, implying a close distance between the two locations.

History

Mario Kart Wii

Moonview Highway was used as a course during the Mario Kart Wii Grand Prix. It was seen as the second course of that Grand Prix' Special Cup.

Four tournaments were held at Moonview Highway, all with the same requirements: racing through the track normally while all the vehicles are driving the opposite way of traffic.

Mario Kart Tour

Moonview Highway made its return in the Mario Kart Tour Grand Prix, making its appearance at the Night Tour. As with previous tracks, it was modified for Reverse, Trick, and Reverse/Trick variants.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Booster Course Pass

When Mario Kart 8 resumed its Grand Prix, Moonview Highway returned as the third course of the Feather Cup.
