Mario Party Advance was the incident in which many Gaddgets were spread across Shroom City thanks to Bowser.

History

Party World is a floating theme park high above the clouds of the Mushroom Kingdom. It's always been the party destination for Mario and friends.[1][2] Suddenly, Bowser and Koopa Kid invaded Party World and scattered its minigames and Gaddgets all across the Mushroom Kingdom's Shroom City.[3]

With Tumble hosting the retrieval party, Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, or Yoshi drive around Shroom City to help any of its citizens in exchange for any of the games and Gaddgets they might have on hand.[4]

Helping a Goomba get his train ticket, Bowser notices and blocks away all of the Warp Pipes leading to his location. He makes a deal to break one of the pipes after a certain amount of quests are completed.[5][6]

What happened next would be a long line of quests: helping the Shy Guy train conductor fill up the train with coal;[7] solve a slumped Monty Mole with beating a game;[8] stopping an Amp's constant losing streak at a game;[9] stopping Hoot's constant losing streak;[10] dueling with a Chain Chomp at a Duel Game;[11] giving the Kamek Krew, a band of performing Toadies, a live venue to perform in at the Mushroom Stadium;[12] helping a Flutter solve her unrequited love towards a Mr. I;[13] playing a Dice Game with King Bob-omb;[14] figuring out the passcode to the Bob-omb club (Baboom);[15] help hand Goombob a seashell as a gift for Goombetty;[16] find a Piranha Plant for Bob-omba;[17] outraced a Bullet Bill;[18] won against a Hammer Bro. in a hammer throwing competition;[19] solved the Pokey's Riddle of Mysteries;[20] gained the title of "game king" from a Magikoopa;[21] making a Toad Force V Lakitu fan remember a famous line in episode 28;[22] train a Blooper by playing against them in a Duel Game;[23] help a stand-up Dolphin comedian be confident by laughing at their jokes;[24] fake losing against a Cheep Cheep;[25] answered some questions from a Mechakoopa mathematician;[26] enacted in a fierce duel at the Duel Tower;[27] getting to watch Toad Force V by a gatekeeping Lantern Ghost;[28], giving a Ninji a limited-edition Toad Force V DVD;[29] playing ball with a Mr. Blizzard;[30] help a Penguin win enough money for him a buy a ring for his girlfriend;[31] help a Petal Guy with his love towards a Flutter;[32] dueled against a Spear Guy;[33] and danced alongside the dance instructor Hulu;[34]

Simply the presence of characters was enough for citizens to hand them their Gaddgets. Yoshi became friends with Nessie and Princess Peach met Mr. I.[35][36]

All throughout this giant fetch quest, they encounter some recurring characters. Mr. E, always awaiting to solve a mystery, was involved in several mysterious cases, such as solving the mystery of the UFO;[37] uncovering the treasure at Klepto Ruins;[38] and getting some Boo's to return haunting Horror Condo.[39] He disappeared after this whole event.[40]

Shroomlock, from Toadland Yard, helped Mr. Thwomp with his crippling loneliness of faking a coin self-robbing;[41] figured out the Koopa Bank manager's cousin's prank robbery;[42] solved his own incident of being dragged under the ocean;[43] figuring out which Boo was the impostor Boo;[44] and uncovered the missing Ukiki mayor of the Jungle part of Shroom City.[45] After this event, he would go on vacation and solve a crime.[46]

The last few quests were to beat Bowser via eight different challenges.[47][48][49][50][51][52][53][54] The final showdown would be, of course, against Bowser.[55] Bowser honorably relented the final Gaddget, completing this entire quest.

Shroom City continues operating, with its citizens living a pretty decent life.[56]
