Mario Party 2

Mario Party 2 was the naming dispute of Mario Land when Bowser invaded it.

History

Mario's group of friends created a piece of land called Mario Land. However, Wario didn't like the name as he was the Super Star in Mario Party. Another argument about who was the real Super Star ensued.

While they were arguing, Mario Land was invaded by Bowser but the group didn't bother, even when a Koopa Troopa told them about it. Toad killed two birds with one stone by proposing the idea that the land's name goes to whoever can stop Bowser's invasion.

Pirate Land

On this side of Mario Land, pirates scour these isles in search of secret treasure. But this area has been taken over by Captain Bowser, spearheading the search.

During the ceremony, the secret treasure had been found by Captain Bowser. A big sword fight between him and the Super Star ends with the Super Star victorious.

Western Land

This side of Mario Land is a town themed after the Wild West. Bowser the Brash, the scourge of this quiet town, has to be stopped by the new group of deputies arriving in this town.

The First Mushroom Bank is being robbed by Bowser, but the deputy arrives to stop this crime. A classic stand-off between Bowser and the Super Star occurs, but Bowser missed his shot and lost the draw.

Space Land

High up in Mario Land, this space station is a deep-space crossroads for many spaceships. The newly appointed Space Patrol get their mission to stop Black Hole Bowser, plunderer of outer space.

The space station's sensors detect Black Hole Bowser's arrival and begins lasering down on the innocent Koopa Troopas. The Super Star Space Patrol steps in to shoot at Bowser's spacecraft, but is impeded by its unbreakable force field that's only at the front. Tricking Bowser into spinning, the Super Star shot from behind, causing Bowser to shoot off into outer space, bringing forth interstellar peace.

Mystery Land

In these hidden jungle paths of Mario Land, countless mystical artifacts tower over mysterious pathways, each one with untold stories. These new group of archeologists has been sent here to defeat the Bowser Sphinx, who has been cursing those who fail to answer his riddles.

The Golden Statue of Mystery Land had been found by a Koopa Troopa, which could answer the riddles of the artifacts. Suddenly, the Bowser Sphinx arrives to bother the Troopa with a shadow riddle, causing him to fail and be cast into stone. The Super Star then answers the riddle, correctly answering it and ending his curse that would've lasted 2000 years. The Red Bob-omb that was sealed inside the golden statue was freed and returned with their fellow alien Red Bob-ombs into space.

Horror Land

In the haunted forest section of Mario Land, Wizard Bowser has taken residence and needs to be defeated.

His residence leads to havoc, as he is turning a Koopa Troopa into a frog. The Super Star returns him back to normal and fights Bowser magic-to-magic. Bowser himself is then turned into a frog and flees the area.

Bowser Land

The hub of Mario Land is then taken over by Bowser and the Koopa Kids. Toad is kidnapped. At the same time, Bowser Land is introduced as a new addition to Mario Land.

Wanting to save Toad, the group play along until they could find Bowser's location. While the Super Star could jump over Bowser's fire breath, they couldn't spin him by the tail due to his Metal Bowser transformation. Thankfully, Toad lended the Super Star with a Power Star, giving them enough strength to throw Bowser across the planet and defeat him.

Bowser was finally defeated, and Mario Land was here to stay, both in structure and name.

Timeline

• Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, and Wario work together to build a new land. When deciding the name, they argue over who it should be named after, having another Mario Party. In the end, Mario wins and it is named Mario Land.
• This game is where the Pirate, Explorer, Cowboy, and Space Outfits seen in Super Mario Odyssey come from.
