Mario Kart: Super Circuit was a Mario Kart Grand Prix.
History
The Grand Prix was spread across 10 cups, 4 courses each. The latter 5 cups are notable in that, while they're tracks from the Super Mario Kart Grand Prix, they're simply recreations built on different terrain.
Battle Mode, which was Balloon Battle, was played on 4 Battle Courses.

Timeline
- Another Mario Kart Grand Prix that likely takes place before Mario Kart: Double Dash!!'' as pipe frames are still the only karts in use.
- Likely after Mario Kart 64 due to its absence from F.L.U.D.D.’s monitor from Super Mario Sunshine.
- Many of the courses from Super Mario Kart’s Grand Prix are rebuilt in new locations.
- The characters featured are the same as Mario Kart 64.
- Hammer Bros. appear with their uniforms from Paper Mario, likely placing this game after Paper Mario but before Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, where they have shoes, and later games, where they go back to having green uniforms.
