Mario Bros (Arcade)
Mario Bros. was the brief moment in which Mario and Luigi worked as plumbers.
History
Mario and Luigi opened up a plumbing business in New Donk City. They were once called to check out the sewers, as it's been running with creatures coming out of its pipes.
Inside the sewers, the Mario Bros. got rid of several vermin crawling through the pipes, such as Shellcreepers, Sidesteppers, Fighter Flies, and Freezies.[1] As work inside the sewers passed, even more creatures popped up, like Spinies for instance.[2]
This invited the Mario Bros. to head inside one of the pipes for the source behind this invasion, passing through an underground lava cave, a blue castle, and even a house in a snowy environment.[3][4][5] They even managed to encounter King Bowser (or a Fake Bowser), which pinned him on the source behind this invasion.[6]
Timeline
- Mario & Luigi begin working as plumbers in the sewers beneath New Donk City.
- As implied by the official Super Mario Maker course “Did Somebody Call a Plumber?”, Mario & Luigi end up in the Mushroom Kingdom just before the events of Super Mario Bros. directly after this game, placing this game as the last major game during Mario’s time in New Donk City.[7]
- They fight off enemies that come out of the pipes, including Shellcreepers, a type of Koopa, hinting towards the Koopa invasion.
