Game & Watch Gallery 4 is a loose list of certain events at different points in time.

Fire

History

Mario and Luigi have to catch several Toads, Yoshis, and Donkey Kong Jr. from a burning building. Using the net they have on hand, they bounce everyone safely inside the mushroom carriage.[1]

Boxing

History

Luigi is playing a game of boxing against a wide array of opponents. These opponents consist of a Wiggler, Boo, and Waluigi.[2]

Rain Shower (Easy)

History

While Toad and Donkey Kong Jr. are relaxing on some clotheslines, Bowser is hidden up inside a tree, trying to throw some colored water balloons at these unsuspecting friends of Mario.[3]

Mario has to move these clotheslines to avoid his friends getting soaked. Peach, Wario, Yoshi, and Luigi will later join the lazing around.[4][5][6][7] After collecting enough 3-Up Moons, Mario would have enough power necessary to punch Bowser out of the tree, causing him to retreat.[8]

Timeline

  • Bowser attempts to throw colored water balloons at Mario & Friends. One of Bowser’s more pathetic plans, potentially due to his recent big defeats.
  • Donkey Kong Jr. is still a baby here, placing this game before Super Mario Kart and Mario's Tennis.
  • Donkey Kong Jr. & Mario are at peace, placing this game after the first two Donkey Kong (Game & Watch) (Modern) games.

Rain Shower (Hard)

History

They're back at the same clotheslines, but it begins with only Luigi, Yoshi, and Wario. Donkey Kong Jr., Toad, and Peach arrive later.[9][10][11]

Waluigi will oftentimes appear to maliciously shake the clotheslines.[12]

Mario's Cement Factory

History

Mario, Yoshi, and Toad are inside a cookie factory. Carriages holding cookie dough are dropping their load down into machines, processing its way down, and being cooked inside until forming recognizable shapes. Mario has to make sure to pull on each lever of the machines to get them to continue running.[13]

While Toad is dutifully packaging down the cookies coming from above, Yoshi prefers to eat all of them outright. Sometimes a Boo might want to enter the machine, just to be funny.[14]

Timeline

  • Yoshi appears in the Mushroom Kingdom, placing this game after previous titles where he lived on Yoshi’s Island.
  • Mario & Yoshi run a Yoshi Cookie factory, likely placing this title around the Yoshi’s Cookie games.

Donkey Kong Jr.

History

Mario has caged up Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr. has to rescue his father. While Mario is sitting there, Donkey Kong Jr. has to maneuver himself through Bullet Bills, Goombas, and many more enemies while slowly unlocking each corner of his father's cage.[15]

Each time Donkey Kong would get freed, Mario would take him higher up, from the forest, the higher parts of the forest, to the mountains up above the clouds.

Timeline

  • Fits directly after the events of Donkey Kong (Game Boy), as Mario is seen lifting up Donkey Kong in the Mushroom Kingdom in the ending of that game, with Donkey Kong calling for help and Donkey Kong Jr. running in to help his father. In this game, Donkey Kong is caged by Mario in the Mushroom Kingdom, while Donkey Kong Jr. attempts to set his father free.
  • Donkey Kong has a tie here, placing this game after most previous Donkey Kong games.

Donkey Kong 3

History

Inside a Ghost House, Mario and Donkey Kong are having a bubble-blowing fight by having their bubbles push a fireball or Boo towards their opponent's side.[16]

Timeline

  • Donkey Kong and Mario have a bubble-blowing fight. They seem to have made up by this point.
  • Donkey Kong has a tie here, placing this game after most previous Donkey Kong games.
  • Likely takes place after Super Mario Bros. 3, as that was the first game to have Mario adventuring through ghost houses, which also appear in this game.

Chef

History

Inside the kitchen, Mario, Luigi, and Peach are preparing a whole slew of different food; steak, fish, egg. Either raw or cooked, Yoshi will then eat it up.[17] After some time, they would cook outside the castle.[18]

Timeline

Mario Bros.

History

Mario and Luigi are relaying cake to a production line towards each other, packaging it, and then placing it on top of a transport truck driven by Wario.[19] Bowser will try and stop this production line by ground pounding, causing the line to go backward.

Timeline

  • Mario, Luigi & Wario work together in a cake factory. This may indicate a placement close to Super Mario 64, as it features the Mario Bros. & Wario as well as cake, which Peach had talked about making in the game’s ending.

Donkey Kong

History

Princess Peach has been kidnapped by Donkey Kong who has taken her to an industrial factory. Mario climbs his way and jumps over the barrels thrown by Donkey Kong. Bit by bit, Mario shortens the platform Donkey Kong is standing on to make him fall off.[20] This doesn't last long, however, as Donkey Kong then brings Peach outside in the forest and afterward a flying ship high up in the sky.

Octopus

History

Mario and Peach go deep-sea treasure hunting. Mario goes down to grab the treasure while avoiding being grabbed by the tentacles of the giant octopus close to the pile of treasure.[21] At some point, the octopus will turn green and then blue.[22][23]

Fire Attack

History

Wario is being attacked from all sides. Bullet Bills and Bob-ombs are trying to make their way inside the project he's hiding. Fortunately for him, he has his hammer that he uses to smack anyone trying to destroy his property.[24] Hen will sometimes enter the building to lay an egg.[25][26]

It seems that they want to destroy the giant golden statue of Wario.[27][28]

Timeline

  • Hen reappears and Wario has a new gold statue of himself, likely placing this game during a time when he still had his Kingdom.
