Donkey Kong Country
Donkey Kong Country was the return of Donkey Kong's banana hoard after it had been stolen from the Kremlins.
History
Donkey Kong lets Diddy Kong watch over his banana hoard as part of his hero training, but Diddy gets ambushed alone by the Kremlins and sealed inside a barrel. The next morning, Cranky Kong wakes up Donkey Kong to let him know that his banana hoard had been emptied last night.[1] Donkey Kong rages out to save his buddy and return all of his bananas. Cranky helps the Kongs out after some slight hesitation.[2]
With further assistance from Candy Kong and Funky Kong, the Kremlins' invasion is diminished bit by bit until all there's left to do is board the Gang-Plank Galleon, where they encounter the head of the invasion: King K. Rool. With his defeat, Donkey Kong's banana hoard is returned to its rightful owner, and even Cranky Kong congratulates his grandson.[3]
Timeline
- Donkey Kong is now grown up and lives on Donkey Kong Island with the now-old Cranky Kong.
- King K. Rool is introduced here.
- Diddy Kong is not considered a hero at this point in time, placing this game prior to the events of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest.
