Boo Woods is a forested area in the Mushroom Kingdom. Previously filled with dead trees, one area of it begun to be filled with leaves after the events of Luigi's Mansion.
The location is within walking distance to Peach's Castle and likely Evershade Valley.[1]
History
After Professor E. Gadd finished his research on the Thwomps in Thwomp Volcano, he moved to an affordable lab at the edge of Boo Woods to spend the next couple of decades dedicated to paranormal research.[2]
Luigi's Mansion
A large mansion, created by King Boo, was placed close to Professor E. Gadd's lab. After King Boo had been captured himself for his plan of capturing Mario & Luigi, the mansion faded away. However, with the money Luigi managed to collect, the Rank D house was able to be built. Afterward, E. Gadd moved to Evershade Valley to continue his paranormal research.
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
Sleeping one night on his chair in his Rank D house, Luigi was awoken by E. Gadd who needed his help. Gadd then turned on the Pixelator which teleported Luigi from his house to Gadd's lab at Evershade Valley.
General Information
Boo Woods, as indicated by its name, is an area commonly inhabited by Boos. It's a dying forest filled with dead trees of dark bark with moss hanging off of its branches. Besides that, the trees around Luigi's NEW Mansion have started to come alive.
