History

Dr. Snoozemore wrote a letter inviting Princess Peach to Pi'illo Island. This was delivered to the Peach’s Castle by Broggy. Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toadsworth and a some Toads got on a blimp called the Zeeppelin to travel to Pi'illo Island. Dr. Snoozemore appeared on the screen on Broggy's back, introduced himself to everyone, before talking about a special power on the island that makes you sleep. Antasma attcked the Blimp and Mario battled him. After being defeated, Atasma flew into the balloon of the blimp, destroying it and floating away. This caused the blimp to crash down into Pi'illo Blimport. It was then revealed that the battle with Antasma was only a nightmare that luigi had and the blimp had actually landed safely in the blimport.[1]

Luigi was still sleeping, due to his nightmare. Some Toads stayed to wake him up, while the rest of the group travelled to Pi'illo Castle.[2] On there way the group took part in the Check-X Quiz[3] and a trick by Broque Monsieur.[4] The group reached the area directly outside Pi'illo Castle. Luigi ran up to the group, having woken up from his sleep. The Coin-Up Challenge was undertaken by the bros. After finishing it, the group entered Pi'illo Castle.[5]

Inside the lobby they meet Starlow, who had travelled to island to represent the Star Spirits. Starlow decided to travel with the Bros.[6] The group were then given the chance to explore the castle, before visiting Broque Monsieur and entering the locked room behind the lobby. In the room they watched a video of Dr. Snoozemore on a large screen, which gave a brief history lesson on Pi'illo Island.

Then Peach and Toadsworth climbed on a platform, which took them down a track to the cave behind the castle. Mario, Luigi and Starlow followed on the same platform.[7] As the Bros traveled through the cave, they were confronted by the spirit Smoldergeist, who inhabited different torches and provided the Bros with various challenges to complete.[8] The bros eventually found Peach and Toadsworth surrounded by 4 Smoldergeist, but they fled after being confronted. The Bros picked up a pillow lying on a throne.[9] Mario and Luigi were suddenly surrounded by the 4 Smoldergeist, which they fought. After defeating the Smoldergeist the gang then left the cave, ending up in the collection room.[10]

Luigi felt fatigued so went to sleep on a bed, using the pillow collected previously. A Dream Portal opened above luigi’s head. A mysterious force called to Peach, she got too close to the portal and it sucked her in. Mario jumped into the portal after her, entering the Dream World.[11] Mario chased after the Dreamy Smoldergeist kidnapping Peach. On the way, he meet Dream Broque Monsieur and Dreamy Luigi.[12] The bros were eventually able to catch up to Peach and battled Dreamy Smoldergeist. During the battle the Smoldergeist fled, taking Peach to the Dream's Deep.[13] The bros discovered and broke some Nightmare Chunk, freeing Princess Dreambert, before returning to the real world[14]
