Captain Goomba is an officer in the Koopa Troop who achieved the rank of Captain of Bowser's Minions. He became a captain when a group of Goombas, seeking to avoid the responsibility of leadership, placed a flag on his head and appointed him to be the leader of Goomba Squad, which came to include all members of the Koopa Troop stranded in the Beanbean Kingdom at the time.
